Built by a small-business owner (we run a pizza shop), for owners who don’t have a numbers person on staff. Big back-office platforms run $300+ a month per location. This doesn’t.
Supplier Check works for any business that buys from a supplier or distributor: restaurants and bars, coffee shops, convenience stores, salons and spas, auto shops, contractors, retail stores and more.
Menu Check is for food & drink: restaurants, bars, cafés, bakeries, food trucks and caterers. Price Check is the same tool for retail stores that resell what they buy: convenience stores, markets, liquor and smoke shops, gift, hardware and supply stores. Do both? It handles both in one store.
What you pay
Matches what you ordered, what your supplier invoiced and what left your bank. Catches price creep, prices above what you agreed to, surprise fees, short rebates and bank pulls with no invoice. Builds the claim and emails your rep for you. Works for any business that buys from a supplier.
What you charge
Menu Check for food & drink, Price Check for retail stores. Uses your own invoices and sales to work out what every item costs you (made in-house or bought by the case and resold), your cost % and margin, and which items are losing you money. Suggests new prices, rounded to .49/.99, and updates Square for you after you approve.
Found at our own pizza shops
We ran both checks on our own stores in Tennessee before selling it to anyone.
Supplier billing to claim
459 invoices and 7,850 lines from 18 months, checked in one afternoon. Plus $3,694 in fees and doubled lines to ask about.
Underpriced menu items found
Supplier prices crept up and a handful of items quietly drifted past our food-cost target. Small price fixes on those items brought them back under. That’s about $22,000 a year at our volume.
These are amounts found, not money already in the bank: the supplier claim is with the rep, and the new menu prices just went up.
Smart Order: buy each item where it’s cheapest
Got more than one supplier? We line up every product you buy at every place you could buy it, in price per pound or per each, and split your order so each item comes from the cheapest one.
Every price in one place
From your invoices, cash-and-carry receipts and the order guides you paste in. Different case sizes, compared fairly.
Splits that make sense
Order minimums, delivery fees, delivery days and contract or rebate deals are built in, so we never send you across town to find $3.
Order sheets, done
One sheet per supplier with item numbers, packs and cases. Copy it into their ordering site or print it.
Fraud Alert: the stuff that walks out the back door
Hooked to your POS sales and timeclock. Every refund, void, comp, discount and drawer open, checked every day, by person, with times.
Cash games
Cash refunds long after the sale, card sales refunded as cash, refunds to an employee’s own card, the same food refunded twice, no-sale drawer opens, paid-outs with no note.
Giveaways
Big or no-reason comps, 50%+ discounts nobody OK’d, “employee” discounts all day long, and discounts on tickets named Dad, Mom or a girlfriend.
Borrowed logins
Sales rung under someone who wasn’t clocked in, or staff ringing under the owner’s login, so nobody can hide behind someone else’s name.
A flag means “ask about it,” not proof. You see the receipt, the time and who was on the clock.
Your first check is free: see how many red flags and how much money is at risk. Then $99 gets the full report plus 3 months of Fraud Alert, which texts you the night something shady happens ($49/month after that, renews until you cancel). Or get it with all 4 tools in ProfitHound Plus for $79/month per store.
We don’t take “credits are coming” for an answer.
Most owners send one email, get a friendly non-answer back, and the money disappears. Not here. ProfitHound keeps pushing until it’s paid.
“We’re putting the credits in. We’ll send some free cases to help out. You also have a rebate coming. The wings were a price increase.”
No dollar amount. No credit memo number. No date.
Every line, the amount, and the total owed. For each line: credit amount, credit memo number, date it posts. Free product isn’t a credit unless they value it in writing. A rebate you already earn doesn’t pay a claim. A “price increase” on an agreed price needs written terms. Deadline included.
Reads every reply
Spots the dodges: no amount, no memo number, no date, free product instead of money, “look it up yourself”, answering only part of the claim.
Writes the pushback
Firm, professional, and only the facts from your invoices. You read it and tap Send. Replies come back to you.
Never lets it drop
Follows up when they go quiet. Chases promised credits that never show up on your invoices. Marks it done only when the money lands.
One free scan, two numbers
Connect your POS and your supplier invoices. Answer a few questions about portions. You see the totals free. The details unlock when you pay.
Example scan result. Numbers are made up.
It asks. It doesn’t guess.
Shows its math
Every number shows where it came from, and whether it’s confirmed or “check this”.
Asks when numbers don’t match
Bought 217 lb of cheese but your recipes explain 190? It asks what else uses cheese and what a scoop weighs. It doesn’t call it waste.
Never changes a price on its own
You tick the changes you want. It shows Square’s current price, you confirm, then it updates and reads it back.
What you get
Three samples. Every business, name and number in them is made up.

Questions
Why can’t I see the details before paying?
Because the finding is the product. Once you know the item and the amount, you can fix it yourself. So the totals are free, and the details are what you pay for. If we find nothing, there’s nothing to buy.
Do I need to type in my whole menu?
No. It pulls your menu and sales from Square and your ingredient prices from your supplier invoices. You fill in portions from ready-made templates (pizza by size, wings, subs, pasta and more). Start with your 5 best sellers.
Will it raise my prices on its own?
Never. You approve each change. It shows the current Square price first, then updates and reads it back.
What’s in ProfitHound Plus?
All 4 tools for $79 a month per store (or $799 a year): Supplier Check with no 15% cut, 4 Menu/Price checkups a year, Smart Order and Fraud Alert with nightly texts. Monthly starts with 3 months paid up front, then renews month to month until you cancel. Your price stays the same while you stay subscribed.
Is it only for restaurants?
No. Supplier Check works for any business that gets invoices from suppliers: shops, salons, auto shops, contractors, convenience stores, bars and more. Menu Check (food cost and menu prices) is for businesses that make and sell food and drinks, and Price Check is the same thing for retail stores.
Does it work for retail?
Yes. Price Check is built for stores that buy by the case and sell by the item. It reads the pack size on your invoice (like 24/12 OZ, 12 CT or 6/4 PK) and works out what each unit costs you: case price ÷ units per case, plus freight or shrink if you add it. Then it matches invoice lines to the items in your register. It shows you the matches to confirm and never assumes one. You set a target margin per category (it shows markup too), and it suggests prices to hit it. The scan is free. The full report is the same price as Menu Check.
Which suppliers and POS systems?
Supplier Check works with national and regional food distributors, cash-and-carry stores and any supplier that sends an invoice: beauty and salon supply, auto parts, building and plumbing supply, beverage and convenience wholesalers, office and cleaning supply. Invoice exports, PDFs, photos or emails all work. Menu Check and Price Check work with Square today, or with a pasted item list; Clover and Toast are next.
