What you do
Simple, local runs
You choose when to start a shift. While you’re on shift, LocalRun sends you the next nearby run.
Start a shift
Starting a shift is a voluntary commitment to stay available with GPS on for at least 4 hours.
Pick up
The nearest on-shift driver gets the next standard run. Close-by drop-offs may be paired — never more than two stops.
Drive it over
The driver app shows each stop and lets you call the customer if you need to.
Hand it off
Tap through each stop to finish. Bigger truck or trailer jobs are optional and only if you opt in.
Pay
Base pay by distance, plus every tip
Each completed delivery pays a base amount set by the distance from the store to the customer, plus a small bump on large orders. Customers’ tips go to you in full.
- 100% of tips — LocalRun never keeps any part of a tip.
- Large-order bump on bigger orders.
- Paid through Stripe to your own bank account. Stripe collects your tax info and issues a 1099 when IRS thresholds are met.
Current base pay per delivery
Distance is measured from the store to the drop-off. Pay bands can change; the driver app always shows the current pay. You’re an independent contractor and responsible for your own taxes and vehicle costs.

Driver FAQ
Questions from drivers
Am I an employee?
No. Drivers are independent contractors (1099), not employees of LocalRun, TurnNet, or the businesses you deliver for. See the Driver Agreement.
Can I pick which orders I take?
While you’re on shift, LocalRun assigns the next nearby standard run to the nearest on-shift driver, so drivers don’t cherry-pick orders. Truck and trailer jobs are optional and only offered if you opt in.
How long is a shift?
When you start a shift you commit to staying available with GPS on for at least 4 hours. If an emergency comes up, contact LocalRun support.
How and when do I get paid?
Through your own Stripe payout account, to your bank. Your earnings and payouts are shown in the driver app.
Do I keep my tips?
Yes — 100% of customer tips go to you.
What about taxes?
Stripe collects your W-9 / tax ID information and issues Form 1099-NEC when IRS thresholds are met. You’re responsible for your own income and self-employment taxes.
Who runs the background check?
A third-party background check provider. LocalRun only receives the result and status needed to decide whether you can drive. See the Privacy Policy.
